FamilyForward supports children and families by providing individualized therapeutic services for children who have experienced developmental trauma due to abuse and neglect.
One of the organization’s most powerful tools is simply sharing these stories — stories that demonstrate both the urgent need and FamilyForward’s impact on families and communities.
I developed the storyboard for this animated video, shaping each scene and transition to bring the story to life and provide a clear visual roadmap for the animator.
What I love most about this project is its character-driven approach. I conceptualized three characters to illustrate how FamilyForward's support can help break the cycle of trauma and empower children to build healthier, more hopeful futures.
In the closing scene, we see the characters grow up, form meaningful relationships, and build families of their own—a visual reminder of how care and support can create lasting change across generations.
Today, FamilyForward uses the video on their website, in donor presentations, and for general outreach.
By helping communicate the organizations impact, the video supports FamilyForward’s mission to sustain the organization’s trauma-informed services and drive lasting, systemic change.
